New Orleans Mayor LaToya Cantrell To Repay $30K City Money She Spent On First Class Flights

It’s no secret that sometimes the officials we put in place misuse funds, but it appears we may have a confession from New Orleans’ Democratic Mayor LaToya Cantrell.

According to Daily Mail, she has agreed to repay $30k in city money spent on first-class flights. She claims she used the money because it was dangerous for a black Roman to fly economy.

Per the cities policy, she is required to find the cheapest fare or reimburse the expenses. She also admitted to admitted living rent-free in an apartment located in the city’s Upper Pontalba building on Jackson Square.

The city-owned apartment has a market rate of has a market rate of $2,991 per month.

The use of the apartment is currently being investigated. It’s unclear if she believed that paying rent would be life-threatening.

The report has since sparked debate online. “If you mad then question why Trump was playing Golf on your tax dollars. Sis innocent,” someone commented. “I don’t care. Yt men probably chartering private jets with city money. Bye,” another person wrote.
