21 Savage Backtracks On Claim Nas Is Irrelevant
21 Savage Clarifies His Comments On Nas
21 Savage has been facing backlash over his comments on Nas. According to 21 Savage, Nas is irrelevant.
During a heated Clubhouse debate about rappers’ longevity, 21 questioned Nas’ relevancy as a whole in addition to why fans still dissected hip hop music like it was anatomy class.
21 virtually shot down every example of Nas’ relevancy during the argument — including his 2020 Grammy Award win, and doesn’t think having ride-or-die fans who date back to his classic 1994 debut album “Illmatic” counts for current-day relevance.
21 Savage said Nas is irrelevant. It’s funny because Nas at 49 years old just released 4 better quality albums than his whole discography.
But it’s even funnier when 21 Savage is being relevant exclusively thanks to Drake in the last year 💀 pic.twitter.com/ffIdthZ2ti

21 Savage is currently the Billboard 200 co-leader thanks to his Drake collaborative album “Her Loss” which probably explains why he’s feeling so confident in conversations like these.
Following the backlash, 21 took to Twitter to clarify his comments. “I would never disrespect nas or any legend who paved the way for me y’all be tryna take stuff and run with it 🤦🏾♂️,” he tweeted.

But that didn’t stop folks on Twitter from dragging him more. “Homegirl these 4 albums are still talked about and they were released 20+ years ago! Nobody talks about “Issa Album” or “Savage Mode” in no regards,” someone replied.
“I don’t hear your Albums get brought up with Classic albums of Today.Nas went against Tupac,Biggie & Jay Z 🐐🐐🐐 Your comp is Kodak.” See some of the reactions below:

For those trying to defend what 21 is saying it just goes to show the level of disrespect that younger generation have for the OGs. Nas would never have said that Kane, G Rap, LL or even Curtis Blow wasn’t relevant. You respect level and admiration for those who paved a way for u

He’s talking about having to go out of your way to hear him now, hearing them in clubs, radios etc he’s not wrong in that regard. none of those songs from last years (although they’re good) are being looped as often as you think.
