The Simpsons” has built a reputation for predicting the future. The show predicted the election of Donald Trump. In the 2000 episode, “Bart to the Future,” the show goes next level on its prediction talents when it name drops Donald Trump as having been POTUS.
In 2017, Trump became the 45th President of the United States.
“Simpsons” producer Al Jean pointed out Wednesday that the hit FOX show “predicted the future” once again.
Following Trump’s highly-anticipated announcement that he would run for President in 2024, the producer tweeted a clip from a 2015 episode featuring Homer Simpson and a presidential campaign sign reading “Trump 2024.”
Another Trump-related clip comes from the episode “Bart to the Future,” which aired in 2000 which the audience sees President Lisa Simpson talking about Trump’s presidency, NME reported.
“As you know, we’ve inherited quite a budget cut from President Trump,” says President Simpson in the snippet Jean shared on Twitter. “@TheSimpsons As predicted in 2015,” tweeted the producer.
