Choking Giant Panda Saved By Breeder Who Performed Heimlich Maneuver
A giant panda was saved by its breeder, who performed the Heimlich maneuver after the furry beast started choking on a piece of carrot on Saturday.
According to a video that was posted on Douyin — the Chinese version of TikTok — the panda was trying to eat the healthy snack when a piece of it managed to get lodged in the animal’s throat.
It was then that a worker — identified by their surname of Yang — rushed over to perform the life-saving maneuver.

“The giant panda got a carrot stuck while eating, the breeder rescued it with the Heimlich method,” reads the video’s caption, according to an Asia Wire report.
Viewers could see Yang rushing over and slapping the panda’s back in an attempt to remove the blockage.
After several attempts, Yang lifted the nearly 500-pound bear and shook it back and forth until it spat out the vegetable.
“That’s a baby not 500 pounds,” someone commented.
