Casanova Stabbed In Jail After Telling Judge He Was No Longer A Gang Member

Casanova Slashed In The Face In Jail After Telling Judge He Was No Longer A Gang Member

As Dreddsworld previously reported, Casanova penned a letter to the judge as he prepares to be sentenced later this month for his alleged crimes as part of the Untouchable Gorilla Stone Nation ga*g.

Hoping for leniency from the legal system, the Brooklyn rapper penned a vulnerable letter to Judge Philip Halpern this week ahead of his June 27 sentencing date.

While awaiting sentencing in his RICO case at the Essex County Correction Facility in Newark, he was attacked on Thursday, June 15. Casanova was slashed in his face in an altercation with another inmate.

This incident comes days after the former gang member renounced his association with the Untouchable Gorilla Stone Nation sect of the Blood gang.

In the emotional letter, which was obtained, Cas renounced his ties to Gorilla Stone Nation and admitted he’s had su*c*dal thoughts during his time behind bars.

“I am telling you and anyone that will listen that I wanted out before I was arrested and I am out. I learned through my music career that people will listen and that I don’t need to associate myself with a gang to succeed. I don’t need to associate with a gang even if I don’t succeed,” he wrote.

“While I have been in here I lost my father to cancer. While I put on that strong facade, all I wanted to do was end it. Surviving on Rikers Island and upstate correctional facilities were not easy with racial and gang tension and violence at its height.”
