Half Of Voters Would Consider A Third Party Candidate Over Donald Trump & Joe Biden, According To New Poll

Almost half of American voters would give serious thought to casting a ballot for a third-party candidate if President Joe Biden and former President Donald Trump are the Democratic and Republican nominees next year, according to a new poll.

The survey released on Tuesday by NewsNation and Decision Desk HQ found that 49% of registered voters said they were “very likely” or “somewhat likely” to consider picking someone else instead of Biden, 80, or Trump, 76.

“Y’all speaking for yallselfs ‘ we defiantly don’t want some random third party ‘ to join,” someone commented. “Lol it’s Kanye’s time,” another person joked.

Back in April, President Joe Biden formally announced that he is running for reelection in 2024, asking voters to give him more time to “finish this job” and extend the run of America’s oldest president for another four years.

Biden, who would be 86 at the end of a second term, is betting his first-term legislative achievements and more than 50 years of experience in Washington will count for more than concerns over his age. He faces a smooth path to winning his party’s nomination, with no serious Democratic challengers. But he’s still set for a hard-fought struggle to retain the presidency in a bitterly divided nation.

Trump reportedly had been considering a 2024 presidential run immediately after his loss in the 2020 U.S. presidential election to Democratic Party challenger Joe Biden. In the week of November 9, 2020, Trump indicated to Republican Party senator Kevin Cramer: “If this doesn’t work out, I’ll just run again in four years.”
