Memphis Organization Calls Out Saucy Santana For Allegedly Skipping A Booking & Refusing To Return Funds

A Memphis non-profit organization is calling out Saucy Santana for allegedly missing out on a booking and refusing to give back the money.

One Memphis One Vision claims that their company booked Santana for a Juneteenth Pride event that was supposed to take place June 18th. Based on the contract provided exclusively to us, the org agreed to pay Santana a total of $25k to host the event and perform two songs. The contract also explicitly stated if the artist fails to make that appearance “100% of the show money is guaranteed back to the Purchaser.”

The day of the event, Santana reportedly missed his initial flight because he left his wallet. His team arrived in Memphis on time and informed OMOV that Santana would be running late.

Unfortunately, he did not arrive until the event was over. OMOV says Santana’s team then tried to convince the promoters to “find him another place to perform” and pay him the backend of $10k that he was owed.

OMOV said they refused because that wasn’t part of their agreement. They also say while they were trying to settle the dispute, Santana wasn’t present, he was in his hotel room— a gesture they found insulting. OMOV says he told Santana’s team that they needed to at least pay them back $5k to cover the money that was spent that day: $2k in travel fees and $2k for Santana’s rider, which included tequila bottles and Popeyes chicken.

Santana’s team told them they would not pay anything back despite the contract. OMOV claims that if it was his own money, he would take the L, but the money for the booking was given to them by the City Of Memphis— making the money tax payer dollars.

OMOV says they would like a public apology from Santana, as well as a payment plan to be set up so they can receive the $25k owed to them— $15k for the initial booking and $10k for the other expenses. OMOV claims they gave Santana a chance to do the right before they came to us with the story, but they told them the only solution was to sue because they won’t be paying. OMOV plans to take them up on that offer if no agreement is made.
