Donald Trump Promised Food For Everyone At Miami Restaurant & Left Without Paying

Eager supporters of former President Donald Trump were promised free food, but they were left hanging when he left a Miami restaurant before picking up the tab, per the Miami New Times.

On Tuesday, Trump made a quick stop at Versailles, a Cuban restaurant in Miami — just after he was arraigned on 37 charges related to the mishandling of classified information.

Trump pleaded not guilty to the charges, 31 of which were under the Espionage Act. The Cuban restaurant was packed with Trump fans, eager to offer him their support and birthday wishes. Trump turned 77 on Wednesday.

It was here that Trump said “food for everyone” to the supporters that had gathered at the Versailles, only to leave the restaurant within 10 minutes, per the Miami New Times.

A source told the Miami New Times that Trump’s swift departure meant his supporters barely had the time to order anything. The New York Times reported that Trump didn’t get to enjoy any Cuban food either and instead opted for McDonald’s fast-food on his plane ride back to New Jersey.

A spokesperson for Trump told Insider that the former president had “offered to buy food” for his supporters but they “followed him outside” when he was leaving “and did not place orders themselves.” The spokesperson added that the campaign’s advance team paid for any to-go meals ordered.

This is not the first time Trump offered to buy food for his supporters. In February, Trump bought local first responders and residents lunch at a McDonald’s outlet in East Palestine, Ohio.
