Multiple Family Members In Bitter Custody Battle Over Orphaned Toddler With $3.3 Million GoFundMe Trust Fund
A toddler has a handful of family members wanting to adopt him after his parents were tragically killed last year, and it appears they have 3.3 million reasons why.
According to Daily Mail, 3-year-old Aiden McCarthy was found wandering alone after his parents Irina and Kevin McCarthy were among seven killed by 22-year-old Robert Crimo in Highland Park, Illinois.
A fundraiser raised $3.3M for the toddler. Although he is currently in the care of his maternal grandparents and paternal grandmother, both sides want to be his permanent legal guardians.

As if that isn’t enough, an aunt of Aiden’s has now sprinkled herself into the bidding. The outlet has learned that Kathleen Sharp and her husband Bret Sharp, submitted paperwork to apply for custody of the orphaned child.
Aiden’s maternal grandparents who are in their early 60s say his 70-year-old paternal grandma is too old. But the paternal grandma says the couple is a set of weirdos for making Aiden sleep in the bed with them.
What none of these family members know is that I too have applied for custody of Aiden. An ancestry DNA test proved me to be a distant cousin.
Due to the worlds diverse nature, it’s only right he stays with his big cousin Dee.
