McDonald's Restaurant Faces Backlash For New 'No Quit' Policy

McDonald’s Restaurant Faces Backlash For New ‘No Quit’ Policy

Things are starting to get a little hectic in the fast food world. A ‘No-Quit’ Notice was hung up in a McDonalds, practically forbidding employees from quitting on the spot without it essentially being approved by management.

It has been made clear that the sign originated in a single McDonald’s franchise as opposed to a world-wide corporation move.

A message near the bottom of the sign reads the reason for the new no-quit policy. “Because we feel that many situations can be resolved,” it read. “It is policy that an employee cannot quit until he or she talks to the Restaurant Manager or Area supervisor”.

A commonly used term by the name of “at-will employment” is beginning to gain its buzz through the situation as well.

The law stipulates that although management is able to fire an employee at will for any reason besides discrimination, an employee also places no requirements on whether an employee can quit at any moment or not. Meaning this goes against said employees’ rights.

As the image of the sign continues to surface, many are beginning to express their outrage at the situation. A woman on TikTok spoke on the matter publicly.

“If everything could be resolved, how would the McDonalds owners explain to its low-paid employees that the company’s CEO makes more than $1M a year?” She said.
