Armed Security Agents Hired To Protect Philadelphia Cheesesteak Customers Due To Upstick In Violence

A Philadelphia cheesesteak restaurant is serving sandwiches and security for their patrons as violence grows in the City of Brotherly Love.

According to the NY Post, Jim West’s Steaks and Hoagies reopened on Sunday with heavily armed security guards prepared to protect customers.

The violence has spiked,” said co-owner Cortez Johnson. A spike in murders close to the restaurant prompted the owners to take extra measures.

“You want people to feel safe and be safe. So when they come out and eat, they don’t have to worry about no type of harm.”

Customers expressed differing opinions between the necessity of armed presence at the restaurant.

“Safety and good food is always a plus,” said Nitah Dunham. On the other hand, Mario Maiale expressed that he’s “not a big fan of guns”, but understood the reasoning.
