DJ Envy Defends 50 Cent Amid Mic-Throwing Controversy

DJ Envy is defending 50 Cent after he faced backlash for throwing a mic during a New York tour stop and hitting a female fan in the face with the mic.

“I haven’t spoken to him. But, yeah, it’s a terrible situation. There’s no way in hell. I mean, 50. You know, everybody sees Fif as this big bully online, but he’s like, the nicest and most caring person,” Envy told TMZ.

He continued: “I know it was probably an accident. I know it was an accident. So, I mean, things happen. […] 50 wasn’t aiming for her. And, we’ve seen 50 throw that first pitch at that Major League Baseball game. And we know how crazy he throws. So I know 50 is very remorseful.”

The incident took place during his appearance at the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles LAST Wednesday. Fif appears to suffer technical difficulties and throws one of his mics down and gives another mic to a staffer as YG performs on the stage behind him.

When he tries rapping into another mic, that too seems to fail, so he throws it aggressively near the crowd.

50 Cent’s lawyer Scott Leemon, has also shut down reports that he “intentionally” hit the female fan in the head with his microphone during a live performance.

“Let’s be very clear; as I told LAPD this afternoon, my client Curtis would never intentionally strike anyone with a microphone,” Scott Leemon told ET in a statement. “Anyone saying something different doesn’t have all the facts and is misinformed.”
