Jonathan H. Smith, popularly known by his stage name Lil Jon, has now converted to Islam and he made his declaration of faith at the King Fahad Mosque.

Video of the 53-year-old “Act A Fool” rapper’s declaration of faith has since been making rounds online, garnering mixed reactions from fans. “I wish/pray he chose Jesus,” someone commented.

“I can’t for the life of me understand why y’all get mad when people convert to Islam… that is THEIR choice. Imagine a sinner being mad that someone chose a path other than the path they chose. Bff please,” another person wrote.

“Don’t ask why everything is turning to Islam rather just read the Quran. See why it’s the fastest growing religion,” someone else penned. “Y’all gotta do more research….. everybody starting to make becoming Muslim a trend,” a fourth person added.

Lil Jon recently acted as musical director of Usher’s Super Bowl halftime show and appeared for “Turn Down for What” and “Yeah!”

“Putting this show together was really hard because it’s Usher’s biggest show of his career, so like, we really had to think about that and formulating the set list,” the rapper whose real name is Jonathan Smith, said on the Jennifer Hudson show.

“With him, it’s his biggest show, so we had to listen to him and his direction in a sense of he might want to come back and want to change things because he’s thinking about it more and more and doesn’t want to alienate some fans,” he added.
