Tonesa Welch Says She Has Anxiety Every Friday From Being Portrayed As A Pedophile On “BMF”

The Neighborhood Talk caught up with Tonesa Welch at this year’s 55th NAACP image awards. And they spoke exclusively about her ‘First Lady of BMF’ biopic that premiered on BET+.

The actress says she’s happy to finally tell her truth after Starz’ BMF series didn’t portray her in the best light.

“I’m not happy about it,” Welch explained. “They’re everywhere with their story. I don’t know who I am in that story,” she continued. “Every Friday I gotta get anxiety cause I don’t know what I’m doing next. Am I dating a teenager? Is he buying me a home? Is his baby mama beating me up? I don’t know what to expect.”

Tonesa previously described her character on the BMF Series, who is played by LaLa Anthony, as a pedophile.

“I don’t want young girls to think this is how it is; me chasing a young boy,” she said. LaLa’s character (26-year-old Markeisha) begins having a sexual relationship with Terri Flenory when he was a 17-year-old high school student.

Actress Michelle Michenor, who plays Tonesa In the BET+ biopic says it was an honor to portray Tonesa’s story the right way. “To be in a position where who you’re portraying says you got it right, is an honor, she explained.

“Guess yall didn’t understand the little disclaimer before they show starts. Just a little fabrication for views,” someone commented. “Baby we don’t even like BMF we just watch it cuz we loyal to 50 cent & his shows,” another person wrote.
