Ben Affleck and Jennifer Garner’s Daughter Seraphina Rose Comes Out As Trans During Grandfather’s Funeral, New Name Fin Affleck

Ben Affleck and Jennifer Garner’s 15-year-old daughter, Seraphina Rose came out as a transgender during a memorial service of their grandfather. Seraphina debuted a new name during the funeral as they now go by Fin Affleck.

Seraphina Rose introduced themselves as Fin to the congregation at Christ Church United Methodist in Charleston, West Virginia on Saturday April 6.

The service was for Jennifer Garner’s father William, who died at the age of 85 and the funeral was live streamed on Facebook. At the service, Fin appeared wearing a black suit and tie and had their hair in a buzzcut, a look which they were clicked in earlier this year.

Fin is seen in the video that has since gone viral, going to the altar and reading a chapter from the Bible. “Hello my name is Fin Affleck,” then read Chapter 16, Verse 8 from the Book of Proverbs: ‘Better is a little with righteousness, than a large income with injustice.’

Fin’s siblings Violet and Samuel, along with their cousins were also present. All of them read a verse from the Book of Proverbs, “one of their grandfather’s favorites”.

Ben Affleck and Jennifer Garner were married from 2005 till 2018. On the 2nd of April, Jennifer Garner announced the passing away of her father in an emotional Instagram post.

Folks online have since been reacting to the news:

“There is so much to say about my dad— my sisters and I will never be done talking about how wonderful he was, so bear with us— but for today I share these memories with my appreciation for the kind and brilliant man, father, and grandfather he was, as well as the loving legacy he left behind,” a part of her caption read.

“A blatant cry for attention. You have to feel sorry for these kids. Social contagion and their parents are either so switched off or even “proud” to have a child that enhances their street cred with their peers,” someone commented.

“How very narcissistic to make her grandfather’s funeral about herself,” another person wrote. “A grandpa’s funeral becomes the perfect occasion to draw attention to oneself if one is a hopeless narcissist,” someone else commented. “I would like to honor the life of my grandfather by making this all about me. I am just glad they didn’t stand up on the coffin and twerk,” another user added.
