BIA Checks Fan For Insinuating She’s Not Black, Posts Picture Of Her Grandfather

BIA recently checked a fan who was insinuating that she’s not Black. “OH?!?! WHATS THIS TEA?! @BIABIA,” the fan wrote on a screenshot of Bia’s ethnicity.

“Landrau was born in Medford, Massachusetts. She is of Puerto Rican and Italian descent. In an interview with Oxygen’s website, she spoke about wanting to become a rapper at a young age after attending studio sessions with rappers and helping them record,” the screenshot reads.

The rapper caught up with it and fired back, “U STILL DONT KNOW THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN RACE AND ETHNICITY? BrUH PICK UP A BOOK! ITS CALLED AFROLATINA STUPID,” she wrote, before posting picture of her Black grandfather.

“Bia really posted her black stepfather & called herself Afro Latina when she’s half Puerto Rican & half Italian? What did she think she was black by association?” another fan wrote.

“Also, how convenient is it now that Afro Latina is considered black for one person but not another? Hmmm??” the fan queried.

Bia then corrected the fan saying, “Nice try. But yes I was raised by my stepfather and that’s not him. That’s my grandpa now carry on.”

“She’s claiming Blackness from her mixed sister’s father and his family? This not crazy to y’all?” someone else wrote, adding laughter emojis. “WRONG” Bia simply replied.
