Bronny James Declares For NBA Draft
Bronny James Announces He’s Entering The NBA Draft
NBA star LeBron James’ son, Bronny James, has announced on Instagram that he will be entering the 2024 NBA Draft. The young baller will also enter the transfer portal to maintain his college eligibility.
“I’ve had a year with some ups and downs but all added to growth for me as a man, student and athlete. I’ve made the decision to enter the NBA Draft while maintaining my college eligibility, and will also be entering the NCAA transfer portal,” he wrote in a statement on his Instagram page.
“Thank you to USC for an amazing Freshman year, and as always thankful for my family, friends, doctors, athletic trainers and fans for their support,” the 18-year-old added. In the caption, he simply wrote: “Thank you USC.”

His announcement was met with mixed reactions from fans. “Bron is soon to retire. Another year or two. The dream is to play with his son. I think conventional wisdom is that the son is not ready. Let’s hope so,” someone commented. “He should’ve stayed 1 more year at USC especially with the new coach coming,” another person wrote.
Multiple media outlets alluded to the possibility of a transfer over the past week, after the announcement that James’ coach at USC, Andy Enfield, was leaving the Trojans job to take the head coaching position at SMU.
USC, which is joining the Big Ten next season, has since hired Arkansas’ Eric Musselman to replace Enfield. A USC spokesperson did not immediately return a request for comment.
LeBron James told reporters after a win over the Raptors on Tuesday that he didn’t know the origin of the reports but said, “[Bronny has] some tough decisions to make, and when he’s ready to make those decisions, he’ll let us all know.”
