Nigerian-American Man, Shaboozey Reaches No. 1 On Country Music Charts With Hit Single “A Bar Song” Sampling J-Kwon’s ‘Tipsy’

Congratulations are in order for Shaboozey, a Black man, after reaching number one on Country Music charts with his hit single “A Bar Song”, which samples J-Kwon’s ‘Tipsy’.

The Virginia native delivered a classic J-Kwon sample a country spin to get the whole party tipsy on the new single: “Bar Song”.

Shaboozey is fast rising as one of country’s latest breakout acts, and his momentum only keeps on growing. His new accomplishment comes fresh off his recent COLORS STUDIOS appearance and his high-profile features on Beyoncé’s latest LP, Cowboy Carter.

Getting his first Billboard chart placements with the feature and now reaching the No. 1 on Country Music charts, it appears things are beginning to turn around for good for him.

“The Bar Song” plays like a hypnotic folk anthem as Shaboozey trades in his daily stress for a dose of shots. Sampling J-Kwon’s 2004 party anthem “Tipsy”, the singer gave a different vibe to it by blending his country sound and his smooth southern slang to deliver a jam that will get the whole crowd jumping.

Shaboozey first made traction when he was featured on Beyoncé’s new album “Act II: Cowboy Carter.” The singer was on her track “Spaghettii” as well as “Sweet Honey Buckiin'”.

Born in Virginia, Shaboozey is a Nigerian-American singer and rapper who is best known for bridging hip-hop and country music. His previous single “Let It Burn” received over 8 million streams.

Shaboozey is singed to Empire and in recent months has made more inroads in Nashville. He is one of several genre-bending Black artists featured on “Cowboy Carter.”
