Devin Haney’s Father Speaks Out After Ryan Garcia Tests Positive For Performance Enhancing Drugs

Apparently, physical training wasn’t all Ryan Garcia was doing in preparation for his boxing matches. He tested positive for performance enhancing drugs, per ESPN.

According to the report, “Garcia tested positive for a banned performance enhancing drug in a test taken related to his majority decision win over Devin Haney.” The drug is called Ostarine. The test was taken ahead of his fight.

The Mexican-American boxer also allegedly screened positive for 19-norandrosterone, which is another banned substance, though that is unconfirmed. Garcia landed three knockdowns in his majority decision win against Haney. It was the first loss in Haney’s career.

Haney’s father, Bill Haney, spoke out Wednesday saying: “You trying to hurt my baby. We played it fair.”

“We didn’t do it like that. F**k boxing, this is some bulls**t. I came from the streets. You scared of Devin on a level playing field. I feel f***ed up over this,” Bill added.

Fans have since been reacting to the new development. “Apparently ped was found before the fight so my question is why was he allowed to fight if they knew before the fight?” someone queried.

“He was on drugs and tested positive so he cheated. Not a fair win at all. they need a rematch with no drugs included then we can see who really won,” another person wrote.

“It was obvious tho. Garcia wasn’t there. That was El Chapo,” someone else’s joked. “Ask him what he took so I can keep it in my purse when it’s time to square up,” another user added.
