Beyonce Performs Tribute At Kobe Bryant Memorial Service
Legendary basketball player Kobe Bryant and his 13 year old daughter Gianna died in a fatal helicopter crash on January 26th in Calabasas, California.
We reported earlier that Vanessa Bryant has filed a wrongful death lawsuit against Island Express which is the company that owned the helicopter Kobe was flying in.
Well, Kobe and Gianna Bryant memorial service held yesterday and attendees were quite surprised when Beyonce took to the stage to perform. Bey kicked off the performance by singing “XO,” before pausing the song to say a few words.
“I’m here because I love Kobe, and this was one of his favorite songs,” she told the audience. “So I want to start that over, but I want us to do it all together, and I want you to sing it so loud that they hear your love.”
After the song, she also performed her single, “Halo.” For her performance, the singer wore a golden suit as well as off purple nails and jewelry, a tribute to the L.A. Lakers team colors, where Bryant played for the majority of his career.
Kobe and Gianna are survived by Vanessa, as well as three other daughters, Natalia, 17, Bianka, 3, and Capri, eight months.
