Ludacris Addresses Backlash Over R Kelly Shout Out
Ludacris Responds To Critics Of His R Kelly Lyrics
Earlier this week, Ludacris and Nelly were locked up in a hit for hit battle on instagram live and it was quite controversial. The two great artists from the 2000s entertained fans during the Versuz battle, with the best songs from their catalogues.
During the battle, Ludacris had an awkward moment when he premiered his new song where he shout out at R Kelly and fans were kinda pissed with it.
In new track “Silence of the Lambs,” Luda raps: “The world crazy, n*ggas pouring drinks like Cliff Huxtable/ I love R. Kelly, but around my daughters, I am not comfortable.” But most people streaming the battle were outraged about the shout out.
“Nelly won tonight off the strength of Ludacris shouting out out R. Kelly not once, not twice, but three times in a 10 minute window. I don’t make the rules,” a twitter user penned.
Ludacris has issued a response to the backlash, during a recent interview with Big Tigger he said, “Sometimes when you speak on records, you speakin’ like it’s just me and you having a conversation as friends. But, you just speaking and just being honest.”
He continued, “I saw that a lot of people kind of misconstrued or didn’t really understand what it was that I was saying.”
Luda went on a clarify the lyrics, “I love his music and what he brought to the table, but I’m a father of daughters and [he’s] not going to be around my daughters.” Listen to him below :
