Student Arrested After Incorrectly Crediting George Floyd For Adolf Hitler’s Quote In Yearbook

A high school student, Hollister Tyron is under fire after including an Adolf Hitler quote in his yearbook and incorrectly crediting it to George Floyd. The Connecticut teen was arrested on Friday and is implicated in illegally accessing the school’s database used by students to deliver yearbook quotes

According to the Journal Inquirer, Tyron is being charged “with two counts of third-degree computer crimes, ” per The Hartford Courant.

The quote said, “It is a quite special secret pleasure how the people around us fail to realize what is really happening to them.”

Reports say the school learned Tyron made these changes after the seniors received early yearbook copies. According to The New York Post, the high schooler wasn’t allowed to attend graduation and his mother was given his diploma after she picked it up from the school.

The school’s administration contacted officials and called for the quote to be removed from each yearbook. Administrators said in a statement, “We deeply regret not having caught the act of bigotry and vandalism before the yearbook was printed….We are examining and will revise our yearbook procedures for collecting and reviewing future student submissions.”

The 18-year-old boy’s bail was set at $5,000; however, he was released after posting $500. According to The Journal Inquirer, if Tyron is convicted, he can face up to five years per count.
