Bill Cosby Sued For $225 Million By Actress Lili Bernard For Allegedly Drugging & Raping Her
Actress Lili Bernard Sues Bill Cosby For Allegedly Drugging And Raping Her
Actress Lili Bernard is suing Bill Cosby for allegedly drugging and raping her in Atlantic City in 1990. According to the lawsuit, Bernard alleges that she met Cosby on set of his show in July 1990 and he offered to be a mentor to her.
“I have waited a long time to be able to pursue my case in court and I look forward to being heard and to hold Cosby accountable for what he did to me,” Bernard said in a statement. “Although it occurred long ago, I still live with the fear, pain and shame every day of my life.
Cosby reportedly claimed that he “looked upon Ms. Bernard as if she were his daughter,” and schooled her “that chastity was a virtue, warned her of the sexual pressures of Hollywood.” He allegedly also told her to refer to him as “Daddy.”
The lawsuit includes four counts with $25 million sought for each with an additional $125 million sought for punitive damages.
In a statement, Cosby’s team responded to the lawsuit as “another attempt to abuse the legal process.”
“These look back provisions are unconstitutional and they are a sheer violation of an individual’s Constitutional Rights and denies that individual of their Due Process. This is just another attempt to abuse the legal process, by opening up the flood gates for people, who never presented an ounce of evidence, proof, truth and/or facts, in order to substantiate their alleged allegations.”
The statement continued, “Mr. Cosby continues to maintain steadfast in his innocence and will vigorously fight ANY alleged allegations waged against him and is willing and able to take this fight to the highest court in these United States of America.”
