Metro Boomin Reflects On His Mother’s Death
“Crying Everyday Is The New Normal” – Metro Boomin Speaks On Tragically Losing His Mother
Back in June, Dreddsworld broke the news that ace producer Metro Boomin has lost his mother.
Metro Boomin’s mother Leslie Joanne Wayne, was murdered by her husband before the husband, who was not Metro’s biological father, took his own life. The incident occurred near Atlanta.
Two months after, Metro Boomin is now reflecting on losing his mother. Taking to Instagram story, Metro wrote: “Please love and appreciate your parents while they are here. I’d give anything in the world to speak to my mom again.”

“Crying everyday is the new normal,” he added. Out prayers are with him.
The prominent hip-hop producer behind songs like Future’s “Mask Off,” Migos’ “Bad and Boujee,” and Kanye West’s “Father Stretch My Hands Part 1,” previously described his mother as his “best friend” and the “wisest and strongest person I know.”
Wayne encouraged her son to pursue music at a young age, and often drove him from the family’s St. Louis hometown to Atlanta so that he could collaborate with other hip-hop artists.
In a 2020 Mother’s Day tweet, Metro Boomin wrote: “Happy Mother’s Day to all the Queens out there who help keep the 🌍 go round. This Queen right here is my mother and my best friend. The wisest and strongest person I know. More than grateful to have her in my life.”
