Australian Woman Claims Her American Ex Husband Ghosted Her One Day After Securing Australian Visa

An Australian woman claims her American ex-husband ghosted her one day after securing an Australian partner visa. Isabelle Glastonbury, 31, said she met the unidentified Texan in Dallas in 2015 and got engaged one year later, relocating to the land down under in 2018.

They cemented their union in a dream wedding in Palm Beach to the tune of $50,000, which her family reportedly covered.

But their honeymoon was short-lived — he allegedly skedaddled in January 2021 after receiving his visa, which Glastonbury’s parents reportedly paid $10,000 to obtain. “I got home and literally 90% of his stuff had disappeared,” Glastonbury told Daily Mail Australia in a story published Friday. “I had this sinking feeling.”

She recalled trying to log onto his immigration accounts, but she was locked out, her credit cards were drained, and her number was blocked. The crestfallen bride said none of her calls or messages went through.

“He ghosted everyone — all of our mutual friends, the best man from our wedding and his own family, no-one knew where he was,” she said.

Upon reflection, she realized he had become “distant and started disappearing at night,” despite proposing relocating to Queensland and starting a family together.

“I felt like I was married to a complete stranger,” she explained, adding, “I don’t know what his plan was, none of it made sense.” “He was my best friend, my ride or die,” she continued. “He fooled everyone, including me.”
