Florida Woman Narrowly Escapes 4 Kidnappers After Being Held Hostage Inside A Dog Cage & Pistol Whipped

A Florida woman had to fight her way to safety after she was kidnapped and held hostage inside a dog cage.

According to Fox 35 Orlando, the 40-year-old woman was forced at gun point to get into the group of kidnappers’ vehicle, where her hands, feet, and mouth were duck-taped so she couldn’t escape.

She was then taken to a house and kept in a dog cage in one of the kidnappers’ backyard, the affidavit says. While in the dog cage, the captors pistol whipped her and tortured her to allegedly get “information about stolen property.”

It was never specified exactly what that stolen property was.

The woman managed to escape out of the dog cage and out of the house, where she ran down the street going door to door for help. A neighbor eventually saw her and called 911.

Police were able to arrest all 4 captors: Monica Latresis Reed, 37, Cortez Jackson, 39, Kevin Holmes, 21, and Damon Tromp, 19. They’ve all been charged with and have since been charged with armed kidnapping with intent to commit a felony and false imprisonment with a weapon, according to the Orange County Sheriff’s Office.

Reed faces an additional charge of aggravated battery for allegedly pistol-whipping the victim in her face.
