Antonio Armstrong Sentenced To Life For Murdering His Parents

The son of the late former NFL player, Antonio Armstrong, has been charged with capital murder for Antonio and his wife, Dawn.

According to Fox 26 News Houston, Antonio “A.J.” Armstrong Jr. shot and killed his parents back in 2016 at their home.

Dawn was pronounced dead when first responders arrived on the scene, while Antonio later died at the hospital from a gunshot wound to the head.

A.J. tried to create a false story about there being an intruder, however, there were no signs of forced entry.

On an episode of 20/20, A.J. spoke out about the crime for the first time saying, “I was in complete shock. It was a mix of shock, it was a mix of anger, it was a lot of different things — like, why me? There’s no way possible. I couldn’t even fathom the idea of killing my parents.”

This case has finally reached its verdict after two mistrials, back in 2019 and in 2022, where the jury could not agree on a verdict.

Despite maintaining his innocence, A.J. was convicted of capital murder in the death of his parents.
