Ashanti’s Mother Appears To Confirm Pregnancy Rumors

Couple months back, Dreddsworld broke the news that R&B singer Ashanti, 43, and her hip hop superstar boyfriend Nelly, are expecting their first child together.

Although it wasn’t confirmed at the time.. an insider made it known to us that she’s indeed pregnant. Well, as the rumors grow, Ashanti’s mother, appears to confirm that the couple are truly expecting a baby together.

Tina Douglas chopped it up with Antoine Edwards during a recent interview where she was asked about the rumors that Ashanti is pregnant with her first child with rapper Nelly.

“There’s been no announcement. It hasn’t come out yet,” she says to the audience. “It is public, don’t get it twisted,” she adds. “But it hasn’t been officially announced.”

Ashanti and Nelly first dated in 2003 and broke up after 10 years of dating. They then got back together last year and seem to be very happy.

Ashanti is an American singer and actress. She was first discovered as a teenager and signed to Irv Gotti’s Murder Inc. Records, an imprint of Def Jam Recordings in 2002. That same year, she was featured on Fat Joe’s “What’s Luv?” and Ja Rule’s “Always on Time”, both of which were two of the biggest hit songs of 2002.

She became the first female artist to occupy the top two positions on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100 chart simultaneously with “Foolish” and “What’s Luv?” at numbers one and two, respectively.
