Lil Nas X’ hit song “Old Town Road” was removed from the Billboard Hot Country Song chart which sparked uproar among music lovers.
Billboard later issued a statement regarding the removal of the song “it does not embrace enough elements of today’s country music to chart in its current version.”

Billy Ray Cyrus then volunteered to hop on the track, and “Old Town Road (Remix)” reached No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100.
Fortunately, Lil Nas X’ “Old Town Road” remix has been nominated for Musical Event of the Year at the 53rd Annual Country Music Association Awards.

The viral song is now the longest running No. 1 hip hop single of all time after staying 19 weeks consecutively on top of Billboard Hot 100.
Lil Nas X lost the No. 1 spot to 17 year old Billie Eilish. ‘Bad Guy’ by Billie Eilish is now at the top of Billboard Hot 100 with Lil Nas X’ ‘Old Town Road’ been demoted to No. 3, sitting under Camila Cabello and her boo, Shawn Mendes’ steamy “Senorita”.
