Nicki Minaj Says Fans & Label Bullied Her Into Dropping ‘Yikes’
Nicki Minaj arguably has the most loyal fan base in the industry. The Barbs are well known to devour anyone who comes in Nicki’s way and will defend her to any extent.
According to the Queen, her hungry stans were the one who bullied her into dropping her new single ‘Yikes’.
Since her retirement announcement, she’s only featured on other artists songs and in a long time, she dropped another single days after previewing it on instagram.
Nicki revealed that she wasn’t done working on the song when fans and label pressured her into dropping it. In a Twitter Q&A with fans celebrating the single’s release, Nicki admitted that the hounding by her fans and consequently Cash Money Records led to her rushing the completion of “Yikes”.
After being asked how the song came about, Nicki explained, “I was playing a snippet for my crazy fans & they made me put it out. They are bullies. I only had 1 verse done. The label bullied me too. I’ve been bullied.”
