NYC Bodega Owner Shot Dead For Refusing To Sell Loose Cigarette

An NYC Bodega operator from Yemen, named Mohammed Qutaish, was shot and killed yesterday, inside his Bronx store. And the entire murder was caught on video.

Authorities say that the shooting happened just before 11:30 a.m. yesterday at the East 216th Street at Deli Grocery in Williamsbridge.




According the the police, a male suspect fired multiple shots at Mohammad, then fled on foot with a 25-year-old woman. The NYPD quickly captured two people, that they say are suspects. They also recovered a weapon at the scene.

The shooter was reportedly Adrien Topping. He was charged with murder, manslaughter and criminal possession of a weapon. Police questioned the woman but she was released.

So why was 20 year old Mohammad shot? Well according to witnesses, the store owner refused to sell Adrien’s girlfriend a “loose” cigarette. Selling loose cigarette’s is illegal in New York.
