McDonald’s Issues Apology After China Restaurant Bans Black People
McDonald’s is arguably the most popular restaurant in the world, having it branches almost in every country. But one of their branches in China did the unthinkable, by placing ban on Blacks.
The China branch placed a sign, banning Black people from the restaurant location in Guangzhou. The sign reads that the location “been informed that from now on black people are not allowed to enter the restaurant.”
Guangzhou has the largest Black community in the country. Well, McDonald’s has now issued an apology over the racial ban.
Again, for those who still doubt that Black people and particularly #AfricansinChina are being targeted we feel it is our duty to share this. A sign at a @McDonalds restaurant seems to make this perfectly clear pic.twitter.com/FaveKrdQHi

A McDonald’s spokesperson told BBC: “Immediately upon learning of an unauthorized communication to our guests at a restaurant in Guangzhou, we immediately removed the communication and temporarily closed the restaurant.”
The sign comes weeks after hundreds of Africans in the city were evicted from hotels and apartments after online rumors that the coronavirus was spreading among African people.
Quarantined for 15 days, evicted from their apartments because they are black and finally not allowed to stay and book hotels This is the plight of Africans currently in Guangzhou for the past weeks living on the streets and you still want me to be quiet about CHINA #CCPVirus pic.twitter.com/9Ho90M1ivz

McDonald’s Corporation is an American fast food company, founded in 1940 as a restaurant operated by Richard and Maurice McDonald, in San Bernardino, California, United States.
The company rechristened their business as a hamburger stand, and later turned the company into a franchise, with the Golden Arches logo being introduced in 1953 at a location in Phoenix, Arizona.
In 1955, Ray Kroc, a businessman, joined the company as a franchise agent and proceeded to purchase the chain from the McDonald brothers. McDonald’s had its original headquarters in Oak Brook, Illinois, but moved its global headquarters to Chicago in June 2018.
