Police Shoot Unarmed Black Man Dead Inside Oakland Walmart

Oakland police are currently facing heavy backlash after they appear to execute an unarmed Black man inside of Walmart store in Oakland.

In the video which has since gone viral, the officers are seen standing over the wounded African American man as he lay dying and deliver a kill shot at point-blank range.

San Leandro police confirmed yesterday that one of their officers shot and killed a man inside of Walmart. But the police say that they shot a man who was “swinging a baseball bat” at the officers. The statement suggests that officers shot the man in self-defense.

But the video appears to tell a completely different story. In the 1 minute 17-second video, a black male brandishing a bat as two San Leandro officers approach him, with guns drawn, not far from the entrance to the store.

The officers shoot the Black man, who turns and walks away. The officers followed and stood over him, as he lay dying. Then the officers appear to fire two more shots at the man while he’s on the ground – clearly not threatening anyone.
