Gille Da Kid Slams Akon For Working With 6ix9ine

Gille Da Kid Blasts Akon Over 6ix9ine Collaboration: “You Gon’ Backdoor N*ggas Like That?”

R&B icon Akon, had shown support for Tekashi 6ix9ine multiple times and even defended him for snitching, revealing that he would have done the same. But last week, he took things a bit further.

Tekashi 6ix9ine surprised a lot of people myself included, after he shared a video on his Instagram page, previewing a new song with retired singer Akon.

6ix9ine posted a video of them vibing to the unreleased song “Locked Up Part 2,” a remix of Akon’s 2006 smash hit. The internet quickly went wild with several reactions to the collaboration. Folks online expressed their disappointment in the legend and some even threatened to cancel him.

Gille Da Kid is the latest artist to react to the collaboration and he’s not happy about the move.  “I see Akon, you know, he’s remaking ‘Locked Up. My whole thing is, how you gon’ come into the game with ‘I’m locked up, they won’t let me out.’ They probably wouldn’t let you out ’cause a n*gga told on you,” he said.

“This how you come in the game… You know how many n*ggas in jail love that f*ckin’ record. You know how many n*ggas crossed the world done been through some pain, done been through some hard times, done been through all types of injustice and they just love that song and you gon’ backdoor n*ggas like that?”

However, Gillie Da Kid made it known that he respects Akon and the stamp he’s made on music, but he can’t support working with 6ix9ine. He added that he should’ve chosen another track or created a new song.

“Make the right song, n*gga. ‘I’m locked up, they gon’ let me out.’ B*tch they lettin’ you the f*ck out ’cause you told on a n*gga. The f*ck you mean you locked up they won’t let you out?!… ‘I’m locked up they gon’ let me out, ’cause I’m runnin’ my mouth.'”
