J Cole Trends After Dropping “Snow On Da Bluff” – Listen
J Cole Responds To Noname On New Song “Snow On Da Bluff”
Weeks after J Cole joined the protesters in downtown Fayetteville, North Carolina marching towards the Fayetteville Police Department in response to the death of George Floyd, he has dropped a track addressing the ongoing chaos.
Cole has earlier been called out for not supporting the Black Lives Matter protest on twitter, but when photos and videos of J Cole on the streets of Fayetteville surfaced, he was praised across social media.
Today, the Dreamville front man took fans by surprise with the release of his new single, “Snow On Tha Bluff.” The track is a direct response to ongoing protests against police brutality and racial injustice.
“There’s a young lady out there she way smarter than me/I scrolled through her timeline in these wild times and I started to read/She mad at these crackers, she mad at these capitalists, mad at these murder police,” he raps in response to Chicago rapper Noname’s call out.
“Just ’cause you woke and I’m not, that shit ain’t no reason to talk like you better than me
How you gon’ lead, when you attackin’ the very same niggas that really do need the shit that you sayin’?
Instead of conveying you holier, come help get us up to speed
Shit, it’s a reason it took like two hundred years for our ancestors just to get freed,” Jermaine raps in another verse.
