NY Mayor Bill De Blasio’s Daughter Chiara Arrested During Weekend Protests

New York City Mayor Bill De Blasio’s daughter Chiara De Blasio, was arrested during a protest in the city over the weekend. According to The New York, Chiara was arrested for unlawful assembly after she and other protesters refused to unblock a street in Manhattan.

A source revealed to the media outlet : “That was a real hotspot, police cars were getting burned there, people were throwing and yelling, fighting with cops. There were thousands of people in that area at that time.”

Following her arrest, Chiara gave the cops her address but did not let them know that de Blasio was her father. De Blasio is also yet to address his daughter’s arrest, although he has expressed his support for peaceful protesting in the city. He did speak out about the more disruptive rioters.

“It is a small number of people. It is well organized, even though many of the people are associated with the anarchist movement,” de Blasio said during a City Hall press.

“Some come from outside of the cities. Some are from inside the city. Some are from the neighborhoods where the protests take place. Some are not,” he added.
