Nicki Minaj Responds To 6ix9ine Collaboration Backlash
Nicki Minaj Addresses Backlash From Tekashi 6ix9ine Collaboration
Nicki Minaj and Tekashi 6ix9ine have been good friends for a while, their previous collaboration “Fefe” was a mega hit and now that 6ix9ine is back from jail, the two are gearing up for the release of their new collaboration.
However, it was met with lots of criticism as folks online dragged Nicki and even threatened to cancel her for collaborating with 6ix9ine and her alleged relationship sex offenders.
Nicki and the rainbow haired rapper unveiled a collection of merchandise to promote the single. Among the offerings are $80 puffer jackets, $25 booty shorts, $70 shark pants, and more. The song is scheduled to drop on Friday.
According to Nicki, a portion of the proceeds from #Trollz including merch items, will be going directly to The Bail Project Inc. [@bailproject]. The fund provides free bail assistance to low-income individuals who can’t afford to pay bail while awaiting their trial.
But that didn’t prevent her from getting dragged online for choosing to work with someone who has been outed for being a snitch and on probation for child molestation charges.
Following the heavy backlash, she’s now issued a response to her choice of collaboration. “You don’t have to defend me. I’m not afraid of internet trolls, blogs, artists. I don’t jump on band wagons. Many will never know what it feels like to have a mind of their own,” she said.
