T.I Issues Apology To His Daughter Deyjah Harris Over Hymen Comments

T.I made controversial headlines last year after revealing that he takes his teenage daughter to the gynecologist every year to check her hymen to be sure she is still a virgin. The rapper turned podcast host was heavily criticized for the act.

Tip made it known on the Ladies Like Us podcast that he takes Deyjah Harris every year after her birthday to the OBGYN to make sure that her hymen is still intact.

However, On last week’s episode of the show, Deyjah was tearful when revealing that she was “shocked, hurt, angry, and embarrassed” by the ordeal and added that she and T.I weren’t very close at the moment. She continued that this incident caused their father-daughter relationship to be changed forever, but he would till be her father.

In a new episode, which aired last night, T.I. spoke about why he now realizes his hymen talk was irresponsible and uncalled for. “I realize how inappropriate the conversation about Deyjah on the podcast may have been and I hold myself accountable and take full responsibility,” he said after consulting with Deyjah’s mother Ranniqua.

“I was wrong. I am willing to accept full accountability, one hundred percent, for everything I may have said that shouldn’t have been said. I apologize to Deyjah. You know I love you. You know I’ve always gone above and beyond to do everything and anything possible to make you happy and keep you protected.”

“However, I must now acknowledge the fact that you’ve now become a young lady. I understand that. Some lessons are harder than others, but the important thing is – make sure you make the best of them.”
