XXL dropped the new “Believe The Future” edition of the magazine, with the 2020 XXL Freshman Class displayed as their new cover. But the list has been quite controversial and fans have been sharing their disappointments.

The rappers that made the cut includes Polo G, Fivio Foreign, Lil Keed, NLE Choppa, Rod Wave, Jack Harlow, Chika, Mulatto, Lil Tjay, Baby Keem, Calboy, and 24kGoldn.

Excluded names has since been causing uproar on Twitter. The likes of Don Toliver, 42 Dugg, iann dior and Lil Tecca were snubbed from the list and fans are not having it. It appears it’s not only fans that are upset with this year’s class as rapper Royce Da 5’9 has also expressed his dissatisfaction.

The iconic rapper re-posted the magazine cover with all twelve rising stars showing their bright smiles, Royce Da 5’9 then add his own reaction to this year’s picks in the caption.

“Next time y’all ask me to do a interview, Ima go missing like Detroit is from this blasphemous freshman cover @xxl,” wrote the Bad Meets Evil rapper. “Still love y’all tho.”

As noted by HotNewHipHop, the exclusion of Detroit rappers like 42 Dugg, Sada Baby, Payroll Giovanni, FMB DZ, Kash Doll, and others might have angered Royce.
