Tyrese Speaks On Beef With The Rock: “It Came Down To Survival”
Tyrese Gibson Addresses Beef With Dwayne Johnson
Tyrese Gibson and Dwyane Johnson don’t have the best relationship. Although the two actors star in the “Fast and Furious” franchise, there is a tension between the two. Tyrese mocked Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, after his movie, Hobbs & Shaw raked in $180 million in the box office.
“I have to show my respects for one thing…. He tried…….. Folks called me a hater…. Attacked me for speaking out…..Breaking up the family clearly doesn’t have the value that one would assume it does,” Gibson wrote on Instagram last year.
“You know what maybe just maybe The Rock and the crew will come dance with us again for #Fast10 we can all hug it out and get back to giving the true fans who have supported this franchise for 20 years WHAT they want……..No hating I’m just pointing out the facts.”
Eventually, “Hobbs and Shaw” pulled in $333 million and is the top movie at box offices worldwide and Johnson subliminally shaded Tyrese in return. Well, Tyrese recently had an interview on Fat Joe Show, where he was asked about his infamous public beef with The Rock.
“It really just came down to survival,” he said, denying there is any “beef.” “I’m a hood n*gga that will protect survival at all costs. And so whatever the politics was, whatever happened, however it happened, you know, I was very vocal about speaking up and speaking out. It’s not anything in me to say anything new about that man. Um, I wish him the best, he’s a great father and now a husband.”
He says he harbors no ill-feelings toward to Hollywood actor. “Literally if you look at footage or photos all over the internet, I mean, he’s a giant bear, like he’s just a great, great guy with a big heart, and we just kinda got into a situation that ended up playing out for the world to see.”
