Big Sean Celebrates ‘Detroit 2’ Debuting At Number One
Big Sean Celebrates Having #1 Album For The Third Time In A Row
Big Sean dropped his new album ‘Detroit 2‘ same time as Tekashi 6ix9ine’s ‘Tattle Tales’. Initially, it was reported that 69 will be debuting at number one before his bundle sales was nullified, falling drastically in sales numbers.
Sean is sitting at the top of the Billboard album chart after selling out 111,000 equivalent album units for Detroit 2. Pop Smoke’s posthumous album follows with 73,000 copies this week.
Juice WRLD holds the third spot with his posthumous album selling 56,000 copies this week. Tekashi 6ix9ine follows with 55,000 official first-week sales of TattleTales. A good chunk of that was through pure sales as 29,000 units count for actual copies of the album.
Big Sean celebrates his album’s success, making it his third #1 album in a row. “Thank you! I sacrificed my privacy,” the rapper wrote on Instagram.
“I put so many emotions and lessons I learned the hard way into this music and gave a honest glimpse into my heart! it wasn’t easy, nights I thought of Offing myslef cause Life was too heavy, but the lock in was worth it! Had to remember if I’m still here and so many aren’t, it’s for reason.”
He continued, “My goal was to inspire YOU to turn yourself up in all ways, Mind, Body, n Soul. Life isn’t promised as we can see, so HAVE FUN and thank you so much for the #1 album for a 3rd time in a row! Let’s KEEP GOING, Why Would I stop?! #Detroit2.
