Just as expected, Gucci Mane and Jeezy‘s Verzuz battle set a new record with 1.8 million viewers on Instagram live. The two rap stars have been beefing for over 15 years and for the first time, they sat down together in the same room.

At the time, Guwop and the snowman’s beef led to the murder of Pookie Loc, an artist signed to Jeezy’s label CTE who was shot and killed by Gucci Mane in an act of self-defense.

For the hit for hit battle, viewers had to wait for nearly an hour after the show was scheduled to start, fans and celebrities flooded the comment section with speculations on whether a fight with break out or not.

Gucci kicked off with a diss track targeting his opponent as Jeezy stood his ground as an untouchable force in the rap game. There was a moment of argument, and it felt as if at any moment, things were going to go south.

Celebrities including 2 Chainz, Papoose, Gunna, Chris Brown, French Montana, Yella Beezy, Bow Wow, Lil Jon, Yung Miami, Mustard, Killer Mike, Rich Homie Quan, Ja Rule, Swae Lee, Juicy J, Travis Scott and more were sharing their thoughts and casting their votes for which artist took each round.

After Gucci performed another song that took aim at Jeezy and his deceased friend, the Snowman called for a truce for the culture. Guwop didn’t seem to acknowledge the effort at reconciliation, and the tense exchange of tracks continued.
