The Kid LAROI Surpasses Kendrick Lamar In Monthly Listeners
The Kid LAROI Has More Monthly Listeners Than Kendrick Lamar
Kendrick Lamar has left fans waiting forever for a follow up to his DAMN album. The TDE lyrical titan is yet to drop any body of work for roughly four years now. At the moment, fans wouldn’t mind at least a single to keep their ears on check.
While he’s been away cooking up his next project, a new generation of rappers have sprung from the ground. Roddy Ricch is the latest from Compton to carry the torch.
Also, out in Australia, The Kid LAROI, whose association to Juice WRLD catapulted his career, has been one of the hottest new names to emerge. How hot, you might ask? Apparently, his monthly listeners are higher than Kendrick Lamar which has apparently sent Twitter into a frenzy.

A side-by-side comparison shared by XXL revealed LAROI has 25,569,361 monthly listeners while Kendrick Lamar currently holds 24,470,054.
Aside from the fact that K Dot hasn’t dropped a project in roughly four years, he also hasn’t released a single in recent times. The Kid LAROI, on the other hand, dropped his project F*CK LOVE in 2020, winning over the teenage demographic.

This is such an asinine parallel. An artist’s “monthly listeners” total is largely driven by recency. The Kid Laroi released a new album this past summer, with a deluxe version that followed in Nov. Kendrick last released an album 3 years, 8 months, 28 days ago. XXL is cancer. https://t.co/auVi4K55qc
