Joe Budden Dropped By Cash App After Sexual Assault Allegations
Joe Budden Podcast Loses Cash App Deal After Sexual Assault Allegations
Joe Budden turned down lucrative long term deals with Tidal and Spotify, to start his own podcast network and the first big deal he signed, was with Cash App.
Earlier this week, Joe was accused of sexual harassment/assault by a former female employee Olivia Dope. Now it appears that the accusations has cost him his deal.
During Joe’s podcast yesterday it appeared that the show was not sponsored by Cash App, for the first time in weeks. The Cash app logo was removed from the episode and Joe didn’t do his usual ad read. Many on social media are speculating that Cash App may have pulled its ad deal from Joe in light of the serious allegations against him.
If true, this would be a huge blow for Joe – and could spell disaster for his burgeoning podcast empire.
Joe Budden has however apologized to Olivia Dope. “I recognize my words and power in that situation created an upsetting environment for Olivia,” he said.
“Upon reflection, both the network and I take accountability for this. I apologize sincerely to Olivia, her former co-hosts, our staff, and the public. In an effort to not further any trauma, the episode will be removed from all platforms,” Budden added.
