Joe Budden Criticizes J. Cole’s Response Track “7 Minute Drill” To Kendrick Lamar’s Diss

Hip Hop fans are having  the time of their lives, seeing the ‘Big 3’ go against themselves in the space of one month. J. Cole is the latest to set set a bomb at Kendrick Lamar’s camp, by dissing his friend and collaborator on a track off his newly released album.

On the track titled “7 Minute Drill’ off Cole’s new album “Might Delete Later”, the North Carolina rapper responded to Kendrick Lamar’s diss on “Like That”, sending a few shots back.

“I got a phone call, they say that somebody dissing / You want some attention, it come with extensions / He still doing shows but fell off like ‘The Simpsons’ / Your first shit was classic, your last shit was tragic / Your second shit put n—s to sleep but they gassed it / Your third shit was massive and that was your prime / I was trailing right behind and I just now hit mine,” Cole raps on the track.

However, there’s been a debate on whether Cole went hard enough or not and this was discussed on a recent episode of The Joe Budden Podcast, where Budden reacted to J. Cole’s response track “7 Minute Drill.”

In the clip which is now making rounds online, Joe Budden is clearly not impressed with Cole’s tone when addressing K-Dot on the song. The podcaster said that Cole’s lyrical retort made him sleepy.

“The tone. This is my issue with this f**king narcoleptic sounding s**t,” Budden said. “This sounds like… if I was actively looking to cop fentanyl this is what I would put on,” he continued. “I want to hear him [Cole] sound alive.”

Joe Budden’s reaction has been interpreted as him saying Kendrick Lamar won the first round Cole, and it has got people talking. “Joe Budden says Kendrick Lamar won the first round against J. Cole | What y’all think? “1-0 Kendrick,” World Star Hip Hop tweeted.

“And who made him the judge ???” someone commented. “I agree he did win nobody will be talking about j cole diss next week but his album fireeeeeeee,” another person wrote. “How? What did Kendrick even diss? Cole said real shit lol,” someone else disagrees.
