Swizz Beatz Debuts Unreleased J. Cole Verse On DMX, Jay-Z, & Nas’ “Bath Salts”

Swizz Beatz and Timbaland had an epic rematch via their popular Verzuz series on Sunday. Fans were blessed with a treat though, as Swizz dropped off a J. Cole verse on DMX’s “Bath Salts.”

The original version of the track exists on the rapper’s posthumous album ‘Exodus’ and features Jay-Z and Nas.

The two icons have been collaborating more as of late, in both music and business. However, Cole’s appearance was definitely a nice surprise. Hopefully, it’ll officially drop on ‘Exodus’ deluxe edition.

The Verzuz rematch took place in LIV Miami, with some fans in attendance. Missy Elliot offered some words of inspiration for Swizz and Timbaland before the match as well.

Recently, Jay Z spoke about DMX, recounting the time he boycotted the Grammys because they didn’t nominated DMX.

“By the way, the first time I boycotted the Grammys was for him,” said Jay. “We both came out that year. He didn’t get nominated. He dropped two albums, had two No. 1 albums in the same year. They didn’t even nominate him.”

“I won that year for Rap album, so my first Grammy win, I wasn’t there,” he continued. “I wasn’t even in the building because I boycotted it for him. So, there was a competitive thing but it was big love. He was so competitive with me. I never met a human being more competitive with me. Ever. Not even my big brother. No one.”
