Bill to decriminalize Psychedelic Drugs In California Is Moving Through The Legislature

Sacramento, CA is outraged by the uncontrollable serge in drug overdose deaths. This would make California the first state to pay people to stay sober.

According to NPR, the federal government has been using this method for years with military veterans.

Research shows that it is one of the most efficient ways to get people to remain sober and stop the use of drugs such as cocaine and methamphetamine.

California is expecting this method to work by, allowing people to earn small incentives or payments for every negative drug test over a period of time.

For the people who complete the treatment without any positive tests will earn a few hundred dollars provided to them via gift card.

It’s called “contingency management” and Gov. Gavin Newsom has reached out to the federal government for permission to access tax dollars to pay for it through Medicaid, the joint state and federal health insurance program for the lower class and disabled that covers nearly 14 million people in California.

“I think there is a lot in this strategy for everyone to like,” shared by state Sen. Scott Wiener, a Democrat from San Francisco  “Most important of all, it works.”
