Pentagon Officials Predict Another ISIS Attack On Kabul Will Take Place Within “24-36” Hours
Pentagon officials believe another ISIS attack in Kabul will happen very soon after a US drone strike killed two of their members.
The update was confirmed by President Biden who said the attack will most likely take place within the next “24-36 hours” during a press conference early Saturday afternoon.
According to the New York Post, the operatives who were killed during the drone strike in Afghanistan were not identified.
Also, officials didn’t state whether they were involved in the suicide bomb attack that killed 13 US service members and 169 civilians.
“They were ISIS-K planners and facilitators, and that’s enough reason there alone. The fact that two of these individuals are no longer walking on the face of the earth, that’s a good thing,” said spokesperson John Kirby.
Not a minute. But do we believe we hit valid targets, bad guys who can do bad things and can plan bad missions? Absolutely. And do we think that will have some impact on their ability going forward? Absolutely.”
The Taliban spoke out about the drone strike and said in a statement that US officials should’ve warned them since civilians were reportedly harmed. However, there were no reported casualties from from the drone strike.
Additionally, they stated those who were involved in the attack were arrested.
