Paraplegic Man Sues Amusement Park After Being Injured On Rollercoaster
A paraplegic man is now suing an Utah amusement park after being injured on a roller coaster. The man states his paralyzed leg was not properly secured while on the ride and his foot ended up being shredded.
It was reported Thursday that Matthew Christensen filed the lawsuit against Lagoon Amusement Park.
According to the lawsuit, Christensen’s ligament in his big toe was “irreparably shredded,” and also had fractures in his lower leg, toe, and two other foot bones. A spokesman Adam Leishman stated,“the ride in question has a lap restraint similar to others used throughout the amusement industry.”
Christensen has stated the he had his lap restraint on secured correctly, but didn’t notice his legs were not secured properly by the leg restraint.
Without his leg being properly secured caused his leg to dangle below and was injured when his foot got caught in the platform.
This isn’t Christensen’s first time going to the amusement park. He and his family tend to go often. He is paralyzed from the waist down and uses a wheelchair during his visits.
Typically his son and his friend helps transfer him around and puts him in the rollercoaster car.
