Georgia Rookie Cop Shot And Killed During His First Shift
A Georgia rookie police officer Dylan Harrison was shot and killed during his first shift on the job and the suspect who killed him has been arrested after a statewide manhunt.
26-year-old Dylan Harrison, an officer of the Alamo Police Department, was exiting from the department building around 1 a.m. when he was fatally shot by 43-year-old Damien ‘Luke’ Anderson on Saturday.
The rookie cop was the father of a six-month-old and husband. Hours later, a statewide manhunt is conducted after officials called Anderson “armed and dangerous” and there were no further details on the shooting.
Anderson was found less than one mile away from the scene on Sunday but investigators said a motive for the shooting has yet to be determined.
According to the Daily Mail, Governor Brian Kemp released a statement to offer his condolences to Harrison’s family. ‘Early this morning, one of our law enforcement officials in Middle Georgia was killed in the line of duty.
Our thoughts and prayers are with this officer’s family, friends, and colleagues at the Alamo Police Department. May God continue to be with all who protect and serve.’
